Welcome to the Davis Center for Child Development We know young families face the challenge of balancing the demands of work with the needs of your family. At the Davis Center for Child Development, we know one of your most difficult tasks is to find a childcare facility that is affordable, conveniently located, and provides the quality of care you want and expect. Our Director Christine Stevenson would be happy to give you a tour of our Center (865-687-0815). We are open weekdays, 7am to 6pm.
Our mission is to provide the highest quality childcare in a loving, supportive Christian environment for children six weeks of age through pre-K. The Davis Center and its staff achieve this by providing facilities and programming that nurture each child’s‚ physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual development. Our class sizes ensure each child has a place to grow, learn and experience new things using Christian principles and teachings.
It was the vision of beloved former pastor, Dr. Jack Davis, to locate a child development center in the building and expand the ministry of the church. In 1995 the FCPC Child Development Center opened, and in 2010 it was renamed the Davis Center for Child Development in honor of Dr. Davis.
We are licensed by the State of Tennessee, Department of Human Services (DHS).We are also regulated by the Knox County Health Department and the Fire Marshall.
Our teachers plan activities for the children that are developmentally appropriate for each age level. Our curriculum focuses on developing motor, social and Kindergarten readiness skills as appropriate for each child’s developmental stage. Christian education activities include, Bible stories, and the observance of Christian holidays.
