It seems like it happens every year – we are left with three weeks until we return home and it appears we have about a months worth of projects to wrap up!!! Everyone is working hard to complete what they can before we leave.
The ladies in Los Tambos are working on uniforms for the next school year. Even though they will not be completed by the time we leave, everything is in place to complete the 80 uniforms in time for the new school year. Work schedules and weather has forced the girls to do a lot of sewing at home and we also have several ladies who work from home – –
Daisy and Brenda are well equipped with their new table and we have added new lighting so they are working away!

Being somewhat shorthanded this year a couple ladies from Buena Vista have pitched in and Rose’s Mom, Yolanda, who lives far away in Yalbac is assisting with the assembly of trousers.
After several sessions of new techniques the girls in Buena Vista and Duck Run II are in the final stages of shade assembly with sewing rings and stringing cords. Each of the ladies have built a shade custom made for a window in their home using fabrics they selected. Having never done this before – they are all turning out very nice.
Buena Vista –

Ms Chung was able to build her shade and had enough fabric remaining to make herself a skirt!
Duck Run II –

All considered – everyone really enjoyed the challenge and most are looking forward to their next shade!
Last week we got a call from CMTS Ministries and they reported a vanity that had given up the fight against termites. Wondered if there was anything we could do. After chasing out the termites and cleaning up he space we installed a new vanity and redid the plumbing… you may win a few of the battles against termites – but in the end they usually win the war!

This year is no different than in the past. We take a look at the folks we have worked with, new acquaintances and all that has been accomplished and rate the trip as one of the best.. This year is no exception, It rates up there as one of the best!!
As we begin to wrap things up and prepare to head home, please keep us and all the folks in Belize in your prayers.
See you in a couple weeks – always great to spend time in Belize – but also pretty special to head home.
