Threads of Hope Update

May 14, 2025

By Joe and Linda Schnorr

For the past 21 years every team that returns from trips to Belize comments that it has been the best trip ever! This year was no exception. The opportunities and the relationships that God continues to put in our path makes us realize why we are there.

Threads of Hope Sewing Groups

The Threads sewing groups continue to sharpen their skills and share their talents in various areas. Community services include school uniforms and various products for the Hope For Life Pregnancy Resource Center.  With the addition of most recent sewing center in Duck Run II, the total ladies in three Threads sewing center and home sewing now totals close to 40 ladies.

CMTS ministries has continued to assist in transporting fabric from PA to Belize.  A container of product was received in Belize early December that included 40 bags of fabric totaling over 1500 pounds. Four shipments have totaled more than two and a half tons of useful fabric.

Medical Assistance Fund

The Medical Assistance Fund that was set up three years ago has helped more than 2 dozen families in the community cover medical expenses exceeding what they can handle.  This past year there were three major applications of funds from the account –

  • Los Tambos mamma needed prenatal help and hospitalization after birth
  • Young boy in Los Tambos required surgery with a broken arm.
  • Buena Vista stroke victim needed a wheel chair.

Contributions from FCPC members and friends enable us to continue with this portion of our ministry.

Repairs & Maintenance

There is always a list of repair and maintenance items that need attention. Whether it’s Los Tambos School, Buena Vista School or Hope For Life facilities. We are never at a loss for something to do.

This year we had plenty of work on the Los Tambos School following the major renovation. Main project at Buena Vista school was the construction of gates to complete the chain link fence around the perimeter school compound.

After four months we have returned home realizing God still has much more in store for us In Belize and we look forward to our return . . . Every trip is the best trip ever and we anticipate the same next year. During the time we are back in the States the sewing rooms continue to operate and maintain continued contact with Linda and the medical assistance continues to help the folks in the villages.

Threads of Hope Ministry could not continue without the support and prayerful consideration of our FCPC family and friends. We ask for your continued support as we prepare for next year’s trip.

Until next year – – –
