FCPC needs several volunteers to help when up to four Family Promise families will be seeking safe, cool shelter at our church from Sunday afternoon on July 21 to Sunday morning on July 28. You can view a complete list of available ways to serve by clicking on the Signup Genius link below:
The volunteer roles include tasks like most of us do at our homes. By signing up early, you will get your top preference of task, date, and time. Your hospitality makes a difference with the families by showing them that people they just met care about them and encourage them. Early sign ups help us make sure we have a full lineup of volunteers. There is never a good time to be homeless. It is always stressful. Summer is an especially tough time due to the sweltering heat. The families face long waiting lists to get into an apartment or other housing. FCPC is one of more than a dozen local churches that offer families in the Family Promise program a safe alternative to sleeping in a car. The Family Promise staff helps the families navigate the housing crisis, get jobs or social services, and manage finances.
The Mission Team encourages individuals, couples, and families to consider serving. You do not need prior experience. All are welcome to get involved. Come help us change lives…one family at a time.
