Family Promise Milestones

Jul 31, 2025

In an effort to prevent spreading of illness within the families and to volunteers, Family Promise decided to move 2 families into a motel and the third family into the upper level of the Family Promise Day Center for the rest of the week. Our former guests came to the church yesterday to get their belongings. FCPC hosts packed up the evening meal and other food for them to take to their next temporary shelter. We also gave them supplies like diapers and wipes.

Even though our week was cut short, we celebrate huge milestones achieved by the families. Two of the families, Brandi and  Harper will be joining Marcey, Malcomb, and Mac in moving around mid-August into a house that one of the churches makes available to Family Promise for transitional housing. This will allow the these families have more time to move up on housing waiting lists and be better prepared financially to move into permanent housing. Brandi is a manager at a West Knoxville store, Marcy delivers items ordered online from a big box store, and Malcom was just hired by a West Knoxville manufacturing company to assemble their products. He is very excited that he will have full time hours and benefits. Chris is seeking a job as a laborer, while Emily will continue caring for their 5 children. Please join us in praying that these families will be blessed with restored health, steady income, and housing stability.
