Stepping Stones

As the summer is winding down, it seems like our busy-ness is picking back up.  The rhythms of life for all of us are different with littles and young people starting school again.  Interesting how changes for one group impacts all of the other groups in some form or another. One of the stepping stones throughout my life has been prayer.  It has helped me feel God’s rhythm instead of the world’s rhythm. I would encourage all of us even with our busy-ness, to make it a daily practice (unless you already have) to set aside a few minutes to be alone with God, and listen.  That can be so helpful.

Also, let God know the things in your heart and mind, both joyful and challenging and turn those things over to God.  We sang a chorus when I was in youth, before we went around the circle to pray before we left youth, entitled, Prayer.  The lyrics go (aren’t you glad this is in print form so you don’t have to listen to my bad singing?), “Prayer is the key that opens heaven’s door.  Prayer brings you joy you never knew before.  Learn how to pray, life’s shadows will depart.  Prayer will bring Jesus into your heart.”  Open heaven’s door throughout the day, and let God’s joy and wisdom fill you.  Have a beautiful week.
Blessings and peace,
Janna
