For over 10 years Threads of Hope has worked with the ladies in various communities in Belize to continue to develop sewing skills. The 2024 trip continued these training efforts. New and different challenges continue to be made available to the ladies and every year they have accepted the challenges.,
The sewing groups welcomed back several of the members who have been part of the Threads program for years and also new members who exhibited the same desire to learn,
Projects they took on this year included some from prior years and also some new ones –
- Each year they work on the project to provide uniforms for Los Tambos. This year the project involved fabrication of well over 100 uniforms including shirts, blouses, skirts and trousers.
- Orders were received by the group in Buena Vista for graduation gowns and caps from surrounding communities
- Making use of their God-given talents, the ladies continue to fabricate various pieces that are used in the Hope for Life Pregnancy Center. This includes maternity robes, blankets, tote bags and diaper bags.
- A new product the ladies worked on this year was curtains and draperies for their homes as well as custom pieces for sale.
In the future, the hope is to continue to assist the ladies in the efforts to fabricate products for both their families and expand their ability to produce products they can offer for sale.
We are in the process of making plans for our 21st trip to Belize. We will be leaving on December 10th and returning on April 10th. All of this is possible through the prayerful support and contributions by the friends and family of Threads of Hope
1 Peter 4:10 – – Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
